Sunshine State and Some People of Interest
I have arrived in Florida!
After two weeks of travel and stops in Kansas City, St. Louis and Greenville I am finally in the latest place that I get to call home. Super stoked about this new adventure in this new city.
Doing lots of study and listening to some absolutely incredible speakers lately. If you haven’t read or listened to any of the following, put down your Joel Osteen book or Twilight “novel” and get a hold of one of these guys. They will blow your mind all over your face. Seriously some of the best teaching out there for people that love Jesus is coming out of these pulpits.
Tim Keller - Presenting Christianity in such a way that it is reasonable, responsible and loyal to God and His Word. Keller has been especially helpful to me in regards to being humble in presenting the Gospel, engaging with culture, taking people as they are and not taking myself so seriously, comparatively to Christ and the Cross.
Find his sermons over at Redeemer or download the Redeemer Presbyterian app in the app store.
John Piper - What praise can I sing for Piper that has not been sung before? Alas, he is one of the most prominent Biblical teachers out there and to me personally, one of the most influential in my study. Generations from now will look back to him as we do to the likes of CS Lewis, CH Spurgeon, Jonathan Edwards and the like.
You can read his blog, listen to his sermons and get more resources from Desiring God and also the Desiring God app in the app store.
Jared C. Wilson - Just began reading Wilson’s book, Gospel Wakefulness and can already tell I’ve come across something that I know I will benefit from greatly. An excellent read so far, it captures some of my own thoughts about recent changes within my understanding of the Gospel in an articulate way.
Read Wilson’s blog over at Gospel Driven Church or, as I would highly recommend, follow him on Twitter; he is quite entertaining.
